In a Montreal summer, a dismembered woman's body arrives at the provincial police forensic lab. Dr. Temperance Brennan is assigned to perform the autopsy. Her expertise leads her to the heart of an investigation into a serial killer who targets women. Five women have already been killed, and Temperance must use her skills and intuition to track the murderer before she becomes the next victim.
