Stephanie Plum is chasing miscreants when she encounters a crazed woman who begins stalking her. The woman, dressed in black and carrying a 9mm Glock, has a dangerous connection to Carlos Manoso, also known as Ranger. The situation turns deadly when someone is killed, and Stephanie shifts from hunting skips to hunting a murderer. Ranger needs Stephanie’s help, and the two team up to find a killer, rescue a missing child, and stop a dangerous person from increasing the body count. Her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Joe Morelli, becomes involved as the tension rises.
