About “Burning Chrome”

"Burning Chrome" is a science fiction short story by William Gibson, first published in Omni magazine in July 1982. Gibson presented the story at a science fiction convention in Denver, Colorado, in the autumn of 1981, where it was heard by an audience of four people, including Bruce Sterling. The story was nominated for a Nebula Award in 1983. It was later collected in a 1986 volume titled Burning Chrome, which included Gibson's early short fiction. The story is considered one of Gibson's early works in the science fiction genre. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
