Star Wars: The New Jedi Order is a series of 19 science fiction novels published between 1999 and 2003, set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The series follows the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy 21–25 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. It focuses on the New Jedi Order, a reformed Jedi organization that had been greatly reduced after the Great Jedi Purge and the fall of the Galactic Empire. The Jedi were gradually restored under the leadership of Luke Skywalker. Additional related stories, including e-book novellas and comic books, brought the total number of NJO-related stories to 26.
