Star Wars: The New Jedi Order is a series of 19 science fiction novels published between 1999 and 2003, set in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. The series follows the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of the galaxy 21 to 25 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. It focuses on the New Jedi Order, a reformed Jedi organization that emerged after the Great Jedi Purge and the fall of the Galactic Empire. The Jedi, who had been reduced to just a few members, were gradually rebuilt under the leadership of Luke Skywalker. Additional stories, including e-book novellas and comic books, expanded the series to a total of 26 NJO-related works.
