Ender's Shadow (1999) is a science fiction novel by Orson Scott Card that takes place at the same time as Ender's Game. It tells the story from the perspective of Bean, a supporting character in the original novel. The book was originally titled Urchin but was renamed Ender's Shadow before publication. It was shortlisted for a Locus Award in 2000. The novel covers some of the same events as Ender's Game but focuses on Bean's experiences and development.
