About “Murder in Mesopotamia”
"Murder in Mesopotamia" is a 1936 novel by Agatha Christie. The story follows Nurse Amy Leatheran, who travels to Hassanieh, an ancient site in the Iraqi desert, to care for the wife of a celebrated archaeologist. Mrs. Leidner experiences strange fears and visions, including the belief that she will be killed. Her fears prove well-founded when she is murdered. Hercule Poirot, the famous detective, is in the area after completing a task in Syria and becomes involved in the investigation. He must solve the crime in a region known for its history of danger and deception. The novel includes an essay by Christie biographer Charles Osborne and a guide to all Poirot cases as e-book extras.
