He authored more than 100 books and was known for his satirical novels set in the imaginary country Grand Fenwick, especially The Mouse That Roared (1955). His work spanned multiple genres, including fictional novels, history, and biography. He also wrote short stories, plays, and long verse poems. His publications included works for both adults and children. Wibberley was an Irish-American author.
