Laurence Michael Yep (born June 14, 1948) is an American writer known for his contributions to children's literature. He is best recognized for his children's books, particularly those in the Golden Mountain series. His work has been honored with two Newbery Honor awards. One of the most well-known titles in the series is Dragonwings. In 2005, he was awarded the biennial Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal in recognition of his career contributions to American children's literature.
