About “Star Trek - Across the Universe”
The Hawking left Earth in the 21st century on a one-way mission to colonize a distant world. Due to relativistic effects of pre-warp travel, the crew aged only thirty years while two centuries passed outside the ship. When the Starship Enterprise rescues the malfunctioning Hawking, the colonists are thrust into a future that has left them behind. Captain Kirk tries to help them adjust, but the task is difficult. The colonists come from a more violent and paranoid time and have brought an ancient weapon of mass destruction with them. They face a universe full of new challenges and dangers.
