About “The City of Dreaming Books”
When the godfather of the young poet Hildegunst von Mythenmetz dies, he leaves his protégé little more than a flawless manuscript. This prompts Mythenmetz to investigate the mystery of its origin. The trail leads him to Buchhaim, the city of dreaming books. Upon entering, he finds himself in a vast bookstore. He smells the hint of acid, reminiscent of lemon trees, the inviting scent of old leather, and the sharp, intelligent perfume of printer's ink. Once inside, Mythenmetz becomes increasingly drawn into the city's labyrinthine world, where reading is still a real danger, ruthless book hunters seek literary treasures, booklings play their tricks, and the mysterious Shadow King rules.
