Raft is a 1991 hard science fiction novel by British author Stephen Baxter. It is Baxter's debut and the first book in the Xeelee Sequence, though the Xeelee do not appear in the story. The novel was nominated for the Arthur C. Clarke Award in 1992. It introduces themes and elements that would later be expanded in the Xeelee Sequence, but stands as a separate work.
