In Pet Peeve, the 29th adventure in Piers Anthony's Xanth series, an army of automatons threatens the enchanted land. The only hope is Goody, a timid goblin who is assigned by the Good Magician Humfrey to find a home for the insulting Pet Peeve. Goody travels with Hannah Barbarian, a warrior, and faces an invasion by mechanical creatures from a distant Robot World. To stop the attack, he must gather help from Xanth's creatures, including dragons, zombies, and goblins. In Goblin Mountain, he finds an unexpected ally in Gwenny Goblin, a strong-willed goblin leader. The story combines adventure, humor, and wordplay. The novel was published in 2005.
