Woodstock, or The Cavalier. A Tale of the Year Sixteen Hundred and Fifty-one is an 1826 historical novel by Sir Walter Scott, part of the Waverley series. It is set after the English Civil War and draws on the legend of the Good Devil of Woodstock, which involves a figure said to have troubled parliamentary commissioners in 1649.
