After losing one of his nine lives, Bramblestar, leader of ThunderClan, believes that codebreakers are traitors to the warrior code and seeks to exile them. However, some cats suspect that something is wrong, as Bramblestar's actions do not match his true nature. His real spirit is struggling to return before the growing tensions among the five Clans lead to war. This story is part of the "The Broken Code" arc, which includes six books: Lost Stars, The Silent Thaw, Veil of Shadows, Darkness Within, The Place with No Stars, and A Light in the Mist. The arc is part of the larger Warriors series, which includes other arcs such as The Prophecies Begin and Omen of the Stars. The novel was published in 2020 by Erin Hunter.
