About “History of Northern Dynasties”
The History of the Northern Dynasties is part of the Twenty-Four Histories, a collection of official Chinese historical works. It consists of 100 volumes and covers the period from 386 to 618 CE, detailing the histories of the Northern Wei, Western Wei, Eastern Wei, Northern Zhou, Northern Qi, and Sui dynasties. The work was initially started by Li Dashi and based on the Book of Wei and Book of Zhou. After Li Dashi's death, his son Li Yanshou completed the text between 643 and 659 CE.
