For a band of Texas pioneers, new enemies await on the trail even as old enemies prove deadliest of all. Dan Ember, returning from war to find hired guns occupying his land, joins fellow Texans on a cattle drive north to Dodge City across the Llano, facing two bands of killers and gunslinger Clay Allison along the way.
