About “The Wild Shore”
In 2047, America has been quarantined for sixty years following a devastating nuclear attack. Seventeen-year-old Henry wants to restore America to its former glory, but for the people of Onofre Valley, survival is the main challenge. They live simply, relying on the sea and land, and try to keep what knowledge and skills they can in a society without mass communication. One day, two men arrive, claiming to represent the new American resistance. Henry and his friends become involved in an adventure that marks the end of their childhood. The Wild Shore is the first novel in Kim Stanley Robinson's Three Californias Trilogy.
