Twenty-six years ago, a girl in South Dakota fell through the earth and awoke dozens of feet underground on the palm of a giant metal hand. Nine years later, she is a top-level physicist leading a team to uncover the origins and purpose of the hand and the robot it belongs to. Today, after finding and assembling the remainder of the giant robot, the team has answered many questions but faces new ones. However, their time may be running out when a second robot appears, looming over downtown London.
