The Lone Wolf series began as a collection of gamebooks written by Joe Dever. These gamebooks gained a cult following and led to the creation of a spin-off titled The World of Lone Wolf, written by Ian Page. In addition to the original series, other media based on the Lone Wolf universe include novelizations, role-playing games, and gamebooks set in the same world. The popularity of the gamebooks also inspired video games and other derivative works. Ian Page's contributions expanded the universe beyond the original gamebooks.
