About “A Civil Campaign”
Miles Vorkosigan begins a campaign to win the heart of Ekatarina, whose husband died due to Miles' investigations in Komarr. Both are members of the Vor class, which imposes strict social rules on their interactions. Miles' political status makes him and his actions heavily watched, leaving him vulnerable to political and social attacks. The story is a comedy of manners, skillfully written, with characters often caught in social complexities rather than acting directly. The novel was published in 1999 by Lois McMaster Bujold.
