About “Mass”
This novel follows Pepe Samson, the illegitimate son of Antonio Samson, the main character of the earlier Rosales Saga novel The Pretenders. Now grown up, Pepe escapes his village of Cabugawan to live in Tondo, one of Manila's sprawling slums, in a story described as his journey from one swampland to another, and as the story of thousands of young Filipinos who have found meaning in their lives.
