About “Serpent”
The battered remains of the Italian luxury liner Andrea Doria lie on the icy sea floor off Nantucket. Inside the ship is a priceless pre-Columbian artifact, a treasure that holds the key to a dangerous mystery. Kurt Austin, leader of the National Underwater Marine Agency (NUMA), rescues marine archaeologist Nina Kirov, who was attacked off the coast of Morocco after discovering a carved stone head. This artifact may prove that Christopher Columbus was not the first European to reach America. Nina is targeted by Halcon, a powerful Texas industrialist. Kurt and Nina uncover Halcon's plan to create a new nation from the southwest United States and Mexico through violence. As NUMA works to stop him, they discover that Columbus may have made a fifth voyage to find a great treasure. The Andrea Doria holds the answer to this mystery and the future of the United States.
