About “The secret of Lost Lake”

A cross-country streamliner wrecks in the Rocky Mountains, and a valuable show dog named Baron that Jean and Louise Dana are transporting to his new owner disappears from the train. Searching by horseback, the girls follow Baron's tracks toward Lost Lake, near a community buried by a landslide forty years earlier and reputedly haunted by a witch, uncovering clues including a threat chipped in stone and an echoed warning.
