The mad Shōgun Yoritomo was assassinated by the Stormdancer Yukiko, creating a power vacuum that threatens to plunge the Shima Imperium into civil war. The toxic blood lotus flower spreads destruction, and the deadlands expand daily. The machine-worshippers of the Lotus Guild seek to restore the broken dynasty and suppress the rebellion by supporting a new Shōgun who is determined to kill Yukiko.
