Drizzt Do'arjin sets out to destroy the evil Crystal Shard, seeking help from the scholar-priest Cadderly. However, the shard falls into the hands of the dark elf mercenary Jarlaxle and the assassin Artemis Entreri. This novel, part of the Forgotten Realms and Legend of Drizzt series, was published in 1998 by R. A. Salvatore. It was a New York Times best seller and has remained in print continuously. The story marks Drizzt's return to the Realms and is the eleventh book in his series. It is also the eleventh book in the Paths of Darkness series.
