About “Iphigenia in Tauris”
Years after she was nearly sacrificed at Aulis, Iphigenia serves as a priestess among the Taurians, a people who ritually kill strangers who wash ashore. Her grim duty is to prepare such victims for death. When two Greek captives are brought before her, she does not yet realize that one is her own brother Orestes, fleeing the Furies.
