Transcendence is set in the summer of 839 and follows Brynn Dharielle, a brave and beautiful woman who embarks on a mission to free her homeland from tyrannical rule. She faces a ruthless sect of warrior priests led by an evil chieftain who hides a dark secret. With her trusted elven companion, she travels beneath the Belt-and-Buckle mountains, encountering dangers and gaining knowledge that will affect the future of the elven valley. The story also involves a queen who desperately tries to keep her magic. Brynn returns to the land where her parents were murdered, finding that revolution has already begun. The novel is part of R. A. Salvatore's Second DemonWars saga and introduces a new hero while exploring themes of enlightenment and war.
