The Spires have protected humanity for countless years, with aristocratic houses within them advancing science, building trade alliances, and maintaining airship fleets to preserve peace. Captain Grimm serves as the commander of the merchant ship Predator, aligned with Spire Albion. He has targeted Spire Aurora's shipping lines in a cold war, and after his ship is damaged, he joins a mission by Albion agents to restore it. As Grimm carries out the mission, he discovers that the conflict between the Spires is only a sign of a greater threat. Humanity's long-dormant enemy, silent for over ten thousand years, is awakening, and with it comes death.
