About “The potter’s field”
In October 1142, a local landlord gives the Potter's Field, previously owned by potter Ruald and his wife, to the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter and St. Paul, which begins to plow it in 1143. The plow turns up a young woman's tresses, and Brother Cadfael cannot say how long she has been dead, though she is believed to be Ruald's abandoned wife Generys, presumed murdered.
