About “The 1976 Annual World's Best SF”
The 1976 Annual World's Best SF is an anthology of science fiction short stories edited by Donald A. Wollheim and Arthur W. Saha. It is the fifth volume in a series of nineteen. The book was first published in paperback by DAW Books in May 1976, with a hardcover edition released in August 1976 by the same publisher. A British hardcover edition was published by Dennis Dobson in March 1979 under the title The World's Best SF 3. A paperback reissue in December 1981 carried the variant title Wollheim's World's Best SF: Series Five. The original cover art by Jack Gaughan was replaced for the hardcover edition by a painting from Chet Jezierski, while the 1981 reissue featured cover art by Oliviero Berni.
