Castle Dangerous (1831) is the final novel in Walter Scott's Waverley series and part of Tales of My Landlord, fourth series, which also includes Count Robert of Paris. The story is set at Douglas Castle in Lanarkshire and draws on an episode from The Brus by John Barbour. The action takes place in March 1307, during the First War of Scottish Independence.
