Swallowdale is a children's adventure novel written by Arthur Ransome and first published in 1931 by Jonathan Cape. The story follows the Walker siblings and the Blackett sisters as they go camping in the hills and moorland near a lake. Maria Turner, the Blacketts' great aunt, plays the role of the antagonist. The book is the second in the Swallows and Amazons series, coming after Swallows and Amazons and preceding Peter Duck. It continues the series' tradition of outdoor adventure and exploration.
