About “Sharpe's Prey”
The eighteenth novel in Bernard Cornwell's bestselling series follows Lieutenant Richard Sharpe in 1807. After returning to England, Sharpe wants to leave the army but is given one final mission: go to Copenhagen to help deliver a bribe and prevent a war. The task seems simple, but Europe is tense due to French ambitions. The Danes have a powerful fleet that could replace French losses at Trafalgar, and Napoleon's forces are preparing to take it. The British must stop them, while the Danes try to stay neutral. Sharpe is not there for politics but to use his street-smart skills. He becomes involved in a war of spies and violence, finding himself as a pawn in a larger game. When he uncovers a traitor, he turns into a hunter in a city under siege. As Copenhagen burns, Sharpe must protect a woman, find the traitor, and survive.
