Greenmantle is the second novel in a series of five featuring Richard Hannay, written by John Buchan. It was published in 1916 by Hodder & Stoughton in London. The story takes place during the First World War, alongside Mr Standfast, the other Hannay novel set in that period. The Thirty-Nine Steps, the first and most famous of the series, is set just before the war began. Greenmantle follows Hannay as he becomes involved in a secret mission during the conflict.
