After an asteroid destroys the human race, eighty people are given the chance for survival aboard a revamped space shuttle programmed to find them a new place to live. After a five-hundred-year "nap," the Eighty land, but not everyone survived the trip, and some who did aren't quite right, arriving at a strange world where half the terrain looks painted in bright brush-strokes and the other half resembles a black-and-white photograph.
