In a cold stone fortress on the shore of the Eastern Sea, a stoat named Badrang keeps many creatures as slaves, aiming to build an empire where he rules as a tyrant. Among the slaves is a mouse named Martin, who longs for freedom not only for himself but for all those trapped under Badrang's control. Martin is determined to fight any battle and take any risk to end Badrang's rule and recover his father's sword, which the stoat stole when Martin was young. Martin the Warrior is the sixth book in Brian Jacques' Redwall series and serves as a prequel to the original Redwall novel. It was published in 1993.
