About “Axiochus”
Axiochus is a Socratic dialogue attributed to Plato but considered spurious since the 1st century AD. It was written during the Hellenistic period, around the 1st century BC, and was likely composed by a Platonist or a Neopythagorean. The dialogue belongs to a tradition of consolation literature popular in the Hellenistic and Roman periods.
