About “Rayuela”
Rayuela is the second novel by the Argentine writer Julio Cortázar. Written in Paris and first published on June 28, 1963, it is one of the central works of the Latin American boom and of Spanish-language literature. The story follows the protagonist Horacio Oliveira and his relationship with "la Maga." The narrative engages the reader's subjectivity and features multiple endings. The work is often called an "antinovel," though Cortázar preferred to call it a "contranovel." With a total of 155 chapters, Rayuela can be read in different ways.
