About “The Oxford companion to philosophy”
This book aims to bring together philosophy in a single volume more effectively than previous works. It includes the writings of twenty major philosophers, as the term is commonly understood. It also covers the history of philosophy in the English language, focusing on British and American thinkers, many of whom are less well-known than figures like Locke, Berkeley, and Hume. Additionally, the book includes coverage of philosophy from other languages. A significant portion of the book consists of around 150 entries on contemporary philosophers, with the largest groups coming from America and Britain.
