The book explores the Blaschkas' collection, which was stored in a Cornell University unit for decades. These glass models capture the appearance of marine life from a time before climate change and human impact. The book introduces readers to the biology of ancient marine animals and shows how ocean ecosystems have changed over time. It also examines which of the real creatures the Blaschkas modeled are as fragile as glass.
