About “The Iron Clew”
Leonidas Witherall, known as "the man who looks like Shakespeare," is writing an adventure featuring Lieutenant Hazeltine when his housekeeper, Mrs. Mullet, interrupts with her "candied opinion." He prepares to attend a dinner as a bank director at the home of Fenwick Balderston. Upon arrival, he discovers Balderston has been killed with a bronze bust of Shakespeare. With the help of Liz Copley, a plucky housewife, and other assistants, Witherall investigates the crime. He searches the town of Dalton to find a missing dinosaur footprint, a copy of Tamerlane, the bank documents, and the murderer. The story involves a series of clues and discoveries as Witherall works to solve the mystery.
