About “The Martians”
The Martians is a 1999 short story collection by Kim Stanley Robinson, serving as a companion to his Mars trilogy. It includes a variety of stories, poems, in-universe articles, essays, and meta or autobiographical pieces. Some stories were previously published, and not all are set in the same universe as the Mars trilogy. Others feature the same characters but explore alternate timelines. The collection includes stories such as Michel In Antarctica, Exploring Fossil Canyon, The Archaea Plot, Green Mars, Coyote Makes Trouble, Odessa, and If Wang Wei Lived On Mars And Other Poems. It also contains essays and commentary, such as Some Worknotes And Commentary On The Constitution, by Charlotte Dorsa Brevia.
