About “Stand up and die”

A beautiful blonde is dead when a handsome young Marine, just out of the service, meets her on a lane in Westchester County. She had a younger sister, equally beautiful, and an invalid grandmother with a large income tax bill, along with a doctor prescribing for grandma and a lawyer serving mammon. Captain Heimrich of the State Police investigates the murder after grandma forgets her script and stands up to die.
