In 1995, Paul B. Thompson and Tonya C. Cook wrote The Dargonesti, the first book in the Lost Histories Series. The story follows Princess Vixa of Qualinost and a group of warriors who set out to rescue their countrymen from the collapsing Ergoth Empire. Their ship is caught in a strange mist and transported to a phantom island. There, they are captured by the Dargonesti, a race of sea elves living in an underwater city made of pearl marble. No one has ever returned from the city, and the Dargonesti are a people unknown to history. Princess Vixa and her companions must navigate this strange world, face a legendary enemy, and complete a dangerous mission to return home. The novel explores the history and struggles of the Dargonesti, a previously little-known people of Krynn.
