About “Steget efter”

It is Midsummer's Eve when three young friends meet in a wood to perform a masque. They are unaware they are being observed, and each is killed by a single bullet. Later, one of Inspector Wallander's colleagues is found dead. The question arises: is the same killer responsible, and what link exists between the two deaths? Throughout the investigation, Wallander remains just out of reach of the truth, always a step behind the perpetrator.
