About “Black Notice”

A cargo ship arrives at Richmond's Deep Water Terminal from Belgium with a locked, sealed container containing the decomposed remains of a stowaway. The victim's identity and cause of death are unknown after an initial autopsy by Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta. Personal effects and a strange tattoo lead her to seek information at Interpol's headquarters in Lyon, France. There, she is given secret instructions to go to the Paris morgue and retrieve forbidden evidence before returning to Virginia to complete a mission that could end her career. The story is from a 1999 novel by Patricia Cornwell.
