Bond, a broken man following his wife's death at the hands of SPECTRE founder Ernst Stavro Blofeld, has lost his edge as an agent, putting himself and others at risk. M, determined not to lose one of his top agents, sends Bond to Japan for a final, nearly impossible mission to restore his confidence. In Japan, Bond is drawn to a mysterious place called the "Castle of Death," where he faces an old enemy who has returned. The situation seems dire, and for the first time, Bond appears to accept that this may be his end.
