A novel by John Gardner (British writer). While on holiday in Victoria, British Columbia, Bond becomes intrigued by Lee Fu-Chu, a half-Blackfoot, half-Chinese philanthropist known as "Brokenclaw" for his deformed hand. Bond is later tasked with investigating the kidnapping of scientists working on a submarine detection system, and finds Brokenclaw behind a plan to collapse the dollar.
