About “Simisola”
Only eighteen black people live in Kingsmarkham, and one of them is Dr. Raymond Akande, the town's new doctor. When his daughter, Melanie, goes missing, Chief Inspector Wexford becomes personally involved. Melanie, who had recently graduated from university but was struggling to find work, disappeared between the Benefit Office and the bus stop. No one saw her board the bus. Her parents say she was happy at home and had recently ended a relationship, but no one wanted to consider the possibility that she might be dead. The case becomes deeply personal for Wexford.
